If you are David Beckham, Seb Coe or Barbra Streisand you can be granted citizenship by Royal Decree on the basis of exceptional talent as athletes or artists If you are plain David Campling, only famous for a rather dodgy party trick or a legend to a very small group of close friends, the requirement is 10 years lawful and continuous residence.
