I am wanting to travel to Spain and live there for a few years

I am wanting to travel to Spain and live there for a few years.?
I am 19 and live in the U.S. I was wondering how to become eligible to live in Spain for a few years? What visas do I need to get, and how do you go about to obtain the visas? Any detailed help would be greatly appreciated. Furthermore if any specific book would be of any help to me please let me know.

Go to the US DEPARTMENT OF STATE online - it'll tell you all about the paperwork. Your best bet for housing etc. is to go and study abroad. They have some English speaking Universities for students abroad.

you need to go to your local post office and ask for a Passport Form. Fill it out and they'll take your pic... It takes about 3-4 weeks to get it back or you can pay extra to have it expedited... Depending on how fast you want it back itll cost you $200-400. They will give you all the info you need on obtaining the correct visas. Other than that just research and make sure you are ready for this adventure... Spain is excellent. And brush up on your Spanish okay Senor! lol

If you are a foreign student from a non-EU country who wish to study in Spain during a period longer than 3 months, you must obtain a temporary visa and a residence permit. You should apply for your visa before leaving your country of origin and apply this to the Spanish Consulate in your home country. You should request your student card from the Spanish Ministry of Public Safety (Ministerio del Interior) once you are in Spain. http://www.spainlawyer.com/guialegal/guialegal.cfm?IDCAPITULO=08040000 This link will give you the nearest Spanish Embassy to your city http://www.embassyworld.com/Foreign_Embassies_In_The_USA/Embassies_To_USA_Spain.html This is a link to an English speaking newspaper on the Costa Del Sol, it will give you a guide to jobs available and accommodation. http://www.surinenglish.com Alternatively you could come on a holiday visa and extend it if you need to in Spain Anna
